SPOKANE, Wash. -- Tuesday's recipient of the Spokane Sports Commission's Spokane Youth Sports Awards Against All Odds Award, Sam Dowd, has finally found a place to call home and has bright future ahead of him. But that wasn't always the case for the recent Gonzaga Prep graduate.

With what life has thrown at Dowd would have every right be bitter, broken and a detriment to society. But that's not him; instead Dowd serves as an inspiration for all of those around him. Dowd has had to fight his entire life and even wanted to give up at times and call it quits, but with some help along the way, he will be playing at Carroll College in the fall. Emmy Award winning anchor Sam Adams and multiple Emmy award winning producer/photographer Jordan Caskey share Dowd's story. Have your tissues ready.
