Family-owned Missoula Store Closes Doors, More Business Moves in

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA - A family-owned business that's been at its North Reserve lot since 1977 has moved to a new location, making way for new retail development.

City officials said developers plan to demolish the old Chalet Jewelers building on North Reserve, which is across from Lowe's.

Development Services is helping that developer put together a proposal to build a 9,000-square foot building and parking lot at the location.

Officials at Development Services said the architects and engineers they work with have been busy with multiple projects this spring, including the major South Crossing project.

Don Verrue, of Development Services, said, "We see this as a great year, rebounding year and we're seeing more permits than we have before and a lot more activity."

Officials said the new building will be two suites for retail and office space, although its still unclear what businesses will move into the location.
