Kalispell Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Named Best In State

Posted: Updated:
KALISPELL - Montana names a Kalispell man as an example for everyone who works with water.

Kalispell wastewater treatment plant manager Curtis Konecky won the 2014 Operator of the Year Award. The Montana Water Environment Association gave him the award completely out of the blue, since he didn't apply, back in May.

It's not every year this award, which is the highest given to a single person, is presented.

"I had no idea and I was totally surprised. It came as a great honor to be recognized," said Konecky.

Konecky says he was the only one recognized from the Flathead Valley at the ceremony in Missoula.

The first Operator of the Year was named in 1984.
