Dialed In: Former Coug Aron Baynes Before the NBA Finals

San Antonio Spurs big man Aron Baynes got dialed in with SWX's Neil Stover before his Spurs take on the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals starting tomorrow, June 5. 

The former Coug talks about playing for all-time great head coach Gregg Popovich and what he expects from the Heat starting Thursday with a chance to win a NBA Title on the line. 

Baynes has been a member of the Australian senior men's National Basketball team and participated in the 2012 London Olympics. After his time at Washington State, Baynes jumped around European leagues. The 6-foot-10 post played  for the Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania, the EWE Baskets Oldenburg of Germany, Ikaro Kallitheas in Greece and Union Olimpija in Slovenia before landing with the Spurs organization in 2013.

While with San Antonio over the past two seasons Baynes has averaged 3.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game and has made four starts during the regular season. Baynes made the first start of his NBA carrer in game four of the first round during the 2013 playoffs vs. the Los Angeles Lakers, where he was forced to guard All-NBA Center Dwight Howard.

Baynes played under Tony Bennett at WSU and averaged 12.7 ppg and 7.5 rpg while playing 28.8 minutes per game in his final season in Pullman, Wash.
