Credit Card Scammers Target Delivery Restaurants, Customers in Bozeman

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

The Bozeman Police Department is warning you to be cautious the next time you have a pizza delivered to your home.

Local restaurants that deliver and their customers are the target of a new credit card scam.

The Bozeman Police Department said that the scammer contacts the restaurant, claiming to be a Bozeman Police officer and even providing a name and badge number.

Then, the scammer explains that fraud is confirmed on a customer's credit card.

The scammer asks for the customer's name, transaction amount, delivery address and phone number.

The scammer then calls the customer and claims to be the delivery driver, asking them for their credit card number because there's a problem with their order.

The Bozeman Police Department said that it will not call businesses asking for such information.

If you suspect fraud, contact the Bozeman Police Department at (406) 582-2000.
