Poverello Center Reaches $1.6M Fundraising Goal

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA - The Poverello Center reaches its $1.6 million fundraising goal for its new facility on West Broadway.

The $1.6 million will be paired with local, state and federal grants and tax credits to complete the $5 million project.

Construction on the new shelter and soup kitchen facility is about half completed and is scheduled to be done by the end of the year.

Poverello employees said they'll be able to better serve veterans, and people with chronic illnesses.

Employees said they were grateful for the private sector donations.

Eran Fowler-Pehan, Executive Director of the Poverello Center, said, "It was an ambitious campaign to raise $1.6 million and I think that the community's overwhelming response is a testament to the importance of the role of the Poverello Center in our community."
