Man Accused of Soliciting Murder Pleads Not Guilty

Posted: Updated:
POLSON - A Polson man pleads not guilty in court Wednesday morning after being charged for allegedly trying to hire someone to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Dennis Jay Hobbs, 56, is charged with solicitation of deliberate homicide, stalking and tampering with a witness.

Court documents show Hobbs drove by his ex-girlfriend's home and work, and made hang-up phone calls to her.

Documents also state Hobbs asked the nephew of the then Polson police chief to find someone who would kill her to prevent her from testifying against him at his rape trial.

A jury trial is set for August 18, and Hobbs' next court appearance is June 18.
