According to ESPN, the Gonzaga University men's basketball team has reportedly landed University of Southern California transfer Byron Wesley, who will be available to play immediately on Mark Few's team.

Wesley was USC's leading scorer and rebounder last season, averaging 17.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, he also added 2.3 assists per game for the Trojans in 2013-14. Due to the NCAA's graduate transfer rules, Wesley will not have to sit out a season because he has already graduated from USC and will be pursuing a graduate degree at Gonzaga that Southern California doesn't offer.

Wesley will join the backcourt duo of Kevin Pangos and Gary Bell Jr., with Przemek Karnowski and University of Kentucky transfer Kyle Wiltjer--who is now eligible after sitting out last season--down low. The Zags also have two heavily-touted freshman signings coming to Spokane, Wash., guard Josh Perkins and forward Domantas Sabonis.

Joining a team that offered Wesley a promising chance to go to the NCAA Tournament in his final season was important to Wesley, especially after the Trojans ended last season with a dismal 11-21 record.

"It's a team that returns a lot of veterans and will be ranked somewhere in the top 15 or so in the preseason," Wesley said to ESPN. "I built a great relationship with the coaching staff, and one thing they stressed is that it's a great situation for me because they don't have anyone like me. It's a perfect fit."
