Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - This week's Throwback Thursday honors Spokane's Sister Madonna Buder, who was inducted into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. According to the usatriathlon.org "The Iron Nun" has 12 age-group victories at the Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and has won dozens of national and world titles in Olympic-distance events.

The sixth ever Induction Ceremony takes place on June 26th in Chicago. We've talked with Sister Madonna several times over the last couple decades of her racing career: our video clips in this story are from 1993 and 2012.

Also inducted this year are John and Judy Collins, the creators of the Ironman Triathlon in 1978, Elite Athlete Mike Pigg and Tom Warren, winner of the 1979 Ironman Hawaii.
