Fire Destroys Four Corners Garage

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN - An apartment and garage in Four Corners were destroyed after a fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Rae Sourdough Fire officials said that the fire in the shop area of a two-story garage started just after 4:30 p.m. on Arrowhead Trail.

They said the person, who was renting an apartment on the second floor, was working on a car on the main floor when the engine caught fire.

No one was hurt.

The homeowner told ABC FOX Montana that the Gallatin Gateway Fire Station is located a few blocks away, but they weren't first on the scene.

Officials said at least three different departments always respond to calls in Four Corners.

“In the Four Corners area, we essentially have three fire districts that join, being Rae Sourdough, and Gallatin Gateway.  All three were dispatched for this fire,” said Brian Nickolay, who is the Rae Sourdough Fire District Assistant Chief.

Tuesday’s fire was located in the Rae Sourdough Fire District, but Gallatin Gateway has a station in Four Corners about 0.3 miles away from the fire.

The Rae Sourdough Fire Department was assisted by the Central Valley, Gallatin Gateway and Amsterdam fire departments.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Department, the Montana Highway Patrol and Bozeman paramedics were also on hand.
