Going To The Sun Road Open To Avalanche Campground

Posted: Updated:
WEST GLACIER - Coming from West Glacier, you can now drive almost 20 miles up the Going to the Sun Road.

Monday through Friday crews keep plowing on the east and west side of the Road.

Cars can make it to the Avalanche campground coming from the west, and the foot of St. Mary Lake coming from the east. You can hike and bike six miles past Avalanche on weekdays, and then as far as you want on weekends and after 6:00 p.m.

Construction on the east side means you won't be able to get to Logan Pass coming from the St. Mary entrance until June 20.

Updates on the road come in almost daily.
