Adopt-A-Park In Bozeman

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN - You can now officially adopt a city park in Bozeman.

The new program works similarly to the Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway program.

People who adopt a park are responsible for making sure the park is clean by picking up trash and dog poop, along with light weeding and pruning.

City officials said people have unofficially adopted city parks for many years and have even planted some flowers.

“We live here because of the beauty of the open spaces, and there are family groups that enjoy the parks already and put a high priority on having parks,” said Terry Quatraro, Adopt-A-Park committee member.

City officials said they will still be responsible for large maintenance projects, such as mowing.

If you would like to adopt a Bozeman park, head to the Parks and Rec website.
