Conner Linebarger: Bozeman's Most Versatile Player

Posted: Updated:
Bozeman senior Conner Linebarger has played baseball since he was two years old. He says the flow of the game makes it his favorite.

"You got time in between each pitch and you got to play each pitch like it's your last. I just like the pace of the game," said Linebarger.

"Great athlete. Great hands great feet. The young man can absolutely swing the bat got great hand speed," said head coach Dave Legg.

Conner played third base last Summer, but because of a team need behind the plate, he'll be catching this Summer. He's pretty familiar with putting on all that equipment.

"13 year old All Stars that was my only position, I caught. I had hamstring problems so I moved out to the infield, so I've played the position before," said Linebarger.

Conner's used to moving positions. When Bozeman quarterback Will Weyer broke his collar bone two years ago, Linebarger went from defensive end to quarterback.

"It was a lot o fun it was nerve racking. Taking over the whole team lot different than it is baseball but I've already had experience filling in so I'm ready to do the same for the Bucks.

His versatility is one of the reasons why he'll be playing baseball next year at the University of Hawaii. His passion shows with his will to help the Bucks.

"I think it has a lot to say about his athletic ability. His desire to be a good baseball player. We could put him anywhere. We put him an inning or two in the out field last year and he looked good out there," said Legg.
