Explosion In N. Bend Damages & Destroys Multiple Businesses

NORTH BEND, Wash. (AP) - An explosion and fire has destroyed or damaged several businesses east of Seattle.
    
Eastside Fire and Rescue spokesman Wes Collins says there have been two minor injuries. Firefighters are searching damaged buildings in North Bend, but they don't expect anyone was inside at the time.
    
Collins tells KING the blast may have been caused by a natural gas leak at a pizza restaurant reportedly under renovation.
    
A dispatcher says there were multiple calls and automated alarms at 3:41 a.m. Friday.
    
The fire has reportedly burned a barber shop and damage is visible at a gas station, tire store and grocery. Debris is scattered over a wide area.
    
North Bend residents report being awakened by a blast that shook their homes.
    
North Bend is about 30 miles east of Seattle.

The home is located near Cannon Playground. When crews arrived there were flames showing and heavy smoke and those inside had been evacuated.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - UPS Airbus 300 made an emergency landing as a precautionary measure at the Spokane Airport just a Wednesday morning. According to Todd Woodard with Spokane International, the pilots thought they had multiple tires blown when they departed from Portland on a scheduled flight to Spokane.

    SPOKANE, Wash.- Tuesday evening the Spokane Fire department announced they had a likely cause for the High Drive brush fire: humans. The fire broke out Monday afternoon about 3pm on the west side of Spokane's South Hill between Squelch Golf Course and High Drive. By 6pm it had grown to 30 acres and moved to within 75 yards of several homes on High Drive.
