The Oredigger football team only has a handful of practices remaining before the Spring Game. Head Coach Chuck Morrell says the energy is high.
"I love the way we're operating tempo wise right now. You see guys bouncing on and off the field a lot of energy. The biggest thing I've seen from our guys is competition There's so many spots where there's competition right now which is pushing us fast," said Morrell.
One of his concerns? Youth.
"One of the big things is we're young in a couple of spots and so that always makes you a little nervous going into the season you got to get guys ready and I think we have the talent it's just going to be an experience factor.
Coach Morrell says there's still a lot of work to do.
"We still have a lot of things going in and defensively really the same thing so we're not stopping we're not taking any steps backwards our guys are really pushing forward we challenge them every day and you feel like you want another 15 practices," said Morrell.
It's a juggling act.
"You gotta balance that with getting ready for the Spring game at the same time you wanna pushing forward schematically," said Morrell.
This is the first year Coach Morrell has done the 6am practices. Look for that to continue.
"It's been phenomenal. The weather in Butte America at 6 o'clock in the morning is outstanding this Spring it's been great. I really feel like after doing it this Spring we're going to try to do it in the Fall as well," said Morrell.
