Firefighters Prepare For 2014 Wildfire Season

MISSOULA -

Wildfire season is just about here, and the Missoula Fire Department and Missoula Rural Fire District are already gearing up. Firefighters said every year they take different classes to train for the fire season. They look back on the previous year's fires to see what they can do differently. This year firefighters are changing some things due to last year's intense fires.

"Last year we had busy year so we need to worry about making sure we have a lot of people on staff and fact fires seem to be more intense so we've been doing training on different ways to fight these fires than we have in past," said Missoula firefighter, Mike Thurlow.

Missoula firefighters have already battled a few small grass and forest fires this year.
