St. Patrick Hospital To Offer Pediatric And Newborn Services

MISSOULA -

Providence St. Patrick Hospital on Monday announced it will offer comprehensive women's and children's services.

Services will include inpatient obstetrical and newborn care, with a Level 2 neonatal intensive care unit; an expanded inpatient and outpatient pediatric program; and outpatient obstetrical/gynecological and perinatology care.

"We've been serving our community for more than 140 years, and we will continue to do so for decades to come," said Providence Western Montana Chief Executive Jeff Fee. "As the healthcare landscape has changed over the years, we have had to transform how we provide care and to be forward thinking. The dynamics of an evolving payer and purchaser environment require organizations like St. Pat's to provide comprehensive services. And in order for us to continue to provide the best and broadest range of services to respond to patient needs, we are moving forward with our long-range regional investment strategy."

Fee said the women's and children services are the first step in the new investment strategy. So far, there is no timeline on when these new services will open.

This comes just weeks after Community Medical Center announced it was merging with the Billings Clinic, turning down a merge with Providence St. Patrick.

CMC's Women and Newborn Care Center is the only hospital in the area dedicated to mother's and babies.
