UPDATE: Spokane Police Arrest E. Grace Shooting Suspect

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives have arrested 36-year-old Troy A. Pesina and charged him with 1st Degree Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in connection to a shooting at a home in the 3300 block of E. Grace on April 1, 2014. Pesina is a convicted felon with nine felony convictions, including 2nd Degree Assault, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Theft, and Residential Burglary.

DETAILS:

Last week, Tuesday, April 1, 2014, officers responded to Holy Family Hospital after receiving information a victim with a gunshot wound was being transported to the hospital.

SPD Sgt. Vigessa was in the area and observed the shooting victim get out of the vehicle, enter the hosptial, and the transport vehicle drive away from the location. Sgt. Vigessa stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver in order to obtain more information.

Through investigation of the incident, officers and detectives determined the shooting had occurred at a home in the 3300 block of E. Grace. Detectives believe the shooting was the result of a dispute between an individual, later identified as Pesina, and the victim. After a physical altercation, detectives believe Pesina fired one shot, hitting the victim.

Detectives located Pesina at a residence on the 2400 block of N. Pittsburgh yesterday. Pesina was arrested without incident. A firearm was also located. Pesina is a convicted felon with nine felony convictions, including 2nd Degree Assault, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Theft, and Residential Burglary.

Pesina will make is first court appearance today at 1:30 pm.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Troopers are investigating an auto-ped fatal crash on I-90 eastbound near mile post 280. A 59 year old man was crossing I-90 when he was hit by a pick up truck. He died on the scene. Police say the driver does not appear at fault and don't believe drugs or alcohol played a factor.
