Intoxicated Man Hit By Car After Intentionally Running Across Highway 20 Near Republic

REPUBLIC, Wash. - Troopers with the Washington State Patrol says a drunk man ran across Highway 20 Thursday night near Republic, Washington and was hit by a car. 

Troopers say 30-year-old Brandon Smith of Republic was intoxicated and intentionally ran southbound across Highway 20, when he collided with the side of a westbound car. The driver of the car was not injured, but Smith was first taken to Republic Hospital and then taken to a Tri-Cities hospital by helicopter. His exact condition is unknown at this time. 

WSP is investigating the incident.
