Shadle Park senior-to-be quarterback Brett Rypien sat down with SWX's Neil Stover in studio for a one-on-one interview to talk about his decision to commit to play football at Boise State University. The above video has the full interview!

Rypien is the Greater Spokane League's all-time leader in passing yards in a season (3,266), total passing yards (7,135), total offensive yards in a season (3,258) and total offensive yards in a career (7,106). Impressively, all of these stats only reflect the nine-game GSL schedule and don't include any of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) playoff games.

There are currently four QBs on the the Broncos 2014 roster: redshirt freshmen Ryan Finley and Richard Hoppe, sophomore transfer Thomas Stuart and redshirt senior Grant Hendrick, also Alex Ogle (Jensen Beach FL, Jensen Beach) is a 2014 QB commit. Meaning there could still be four or five quarterbacks on the roster when Rypien joins BSU in 2015 after he graduates.

Rypien had been offered scholarships to a multitude of schools, including Arizona State, Colorado State, Oregon State, Mississippi State, Washington and Washington State, according to Yahoo's Rivals.com. But said that it was the facilities, the coaches and the relationship he built with the Broncos staff that swayed him towards Boise.
