PLYMOUTH, WA - Investigators haven't determined what caused last week's explosion at a natural gas plant near Plymouth, but they have pinpointed where things may have gone wrong.

Currently, investigators are looking into whether a pressure vessel failed.

Dozens of people showed up for an open house meeting in Plymouth on Tuesday evening to get their questions answered about the explosion at the Williams Northwest Pipeline facility.

The town was evacuated after shrapnel pierced a 14.6-million-gallon tank at the plant.

Some of Tuesday's questions focused on the evacuation procedure and if it could have been done faster. Residents wondered if an automatic system would have been more effective than having sheriff's deputies going door to door.

"We'll see how well we can work with Williams, you know, or with emergency management for Benton County. And it generally takes a significant event like this to affect change and this may affect change for the positive," Benton County Fire District #6 Chief Rolland Watt explained.

Five people were hurt in the explosion. Four of them were treated at local hospitals.

A fifth worker was taken to a Portland hospital. He is recovering from some burns and has been released from the hospital. He actually toured the plant Tuesday.
