Two Construction Projects Reach Turning Points

Posted: Updated:
KALISPELL -

Two big projects in Kalispell are up for debate Tuesday.

First, the planning board will decide whether the Flathead County Economic Development Authority can get to work on turning about 40 acres northeast of town into a rail industrial park.

The bigger picture here is getting the train tracks out of the downtown area. It's one of the first legs in the downtown redevelopment plan.

They're also going to hear from the non-profit Ray of Hope.

The group is looking to build a second homeless shelter, this one just for women and children, right next door to the one they have now on Fifth Avenue West.
