Third Update Released On Ravalli Co. Treasurer Office Audit

Posted: Updated:
HAMILTON -

The independent company auditing the files in the Ravalli County Treasurer's Office releases its third update on the investigation.

The firm, Anderson Zurmuehlen, previously found almost $1 million in undeposited funds in the treasurer's office. The report released Friday, shows the treasurer's office has caught up with the backlog dealing with deposit receipts, tax allocations, warrants and other payments to Ravalli County agencies.

Ravalli County Treasurer, Valerie Stamey remains on paid leave.

This audit is the first part of an investigation looking into the county, after Stamey fell months behind in filing the office's financial reports. The second part of the investigation will look into Stamey's allegations that county commissioners are corrupt.
