Yellowstone Volcano Won't Erupt Anytime Soon

Posted: Updated:
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK -

Yellowstone National Park officials reassure visitors the super volcano is not going to erupt anytime soon, despite a recent earthquake and rumors to the contrary.

Those rumors started circling after a YouTube video of bison running along the road went viral.

Park officials said a park employee shot the video a few weeks ago before the rumors starting circulating.

They also note, the bison are actually running back into the park after migrating for the winter.

Yellowstone spokesman Al Nash said there is nothing to worry about.

"I am not worried about my safety, or those of my coworkers, friends or visitors," said Nash. "This is truly a case of somebody wanting to get excited about nothing."

Park County officials said the speed limit on U.S. 89 from mile post 13 to Gardiner is lowered to 55 mph because of the high number of crashes involving bison on that stretch of road.
