Griz Enjoy Spring Break During Spring Ball

For the first time since Mick Delaney took over as Head Coach the Montana Grizzlies have spring break fall right in the middle of spring practices, something they players are thrilled about.

"It's awesome, I'm really glad that our set up is the way it is. I know some other guys at other schools that go one week then one week off or have to go all the way through and I think it just helps mentally knowing we can go hard for two weeks, get a week off, and then have another two weeks so it's really nice," said Junior DE Tyrone Holmes.

"I mean I like it because we get a break from school also, so we get in the two weeks and focus on spring ball and then get a break and get mentally ready for the last two weeks and to finish your classes and all that," said senior RB Travon Van.

For the players, especially those from out of state, spring break allows them to get out of Montana and enjoy some warmer climates.

"I'm going to San Diego, going to spend all my time on the beach and just getting focused again," said Van.

"I'm going to Vegas with Alex, Bo, Mitch, and Jordan so it should be good," said Junior DL Derek Crittenden.

"I'm going to Hawaii and just really excited to relax and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the sun again because I haven't seen it in five months now, so it's going to be fun," said Junior WR Chase Naccarato.

Delaney says the break will be a chance to recharge the batteries as it's been football 24/7 and hopefully he can enjoy a little bit of his second favorite sport.

"Oh gosh yea, I will be a lot more rejuvenated if we can get some sunshine and play some golf I will tell you that," said Delaney.

So the Griz players better take advantage of the week off as they will get right back at it on Monday as their practice schedule reads 6:30 AM conditioning no absences, no excuses.
