Naked Juice Removes "All Natural" From Label

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

Changes are made to a popular health drink after it wasn't, in fact, "all natural", as the label suggested.

The parent company of Naked Juice made the changes after consumers discovered it contains ingredients made from formaldehyde.

A 2011 lawsuit filed against PepsiCo, which owns Naked Juice, said the company mislead consumers because the juice contains non-natural ingredients, such as genetically modified soy and calcium pantothenate, made from formaldehyde.

American Academy of Environmental Medicine urges people to stay away from these chemicals and genetically modified ingredients.

They said the genes inserted into soy could be linked to cancer.

Some Bozeman residents said they aren't surprised these chemicals are found in Naked Juice.

"It doesn't shock me. As an athlete a lot of the natural, healthy supplements don't come from a tree," said Jacob Wahry.

Wesson Oils and Kashi were also sued in 2011 because they also claimed to be "all natural".
