School Board Approves Funding For Willson Auditorium

BOZEMAN -

Bozeman School Board members a multi-million dollar Willson Auditorium renovation project Monday night.

The school foundation has already raised more than $2 million for renovations and looks toward the building repair fund to make up the final chunk of the $3 million project.

The project is divided into four parts. The first project begins with renovations to the ceiling and the stage.

Other parts include improving the restrooms, lobby and library.

"I think it's been a very successful campaign for the foundation to undertake," said Steve Johnson, Bozeman Schools Deputy Superintendent. "It's the biggest capital campaign fundraiser that the foundation has ever taken on."

Johnson said construction for the first phase will begin mid-May. The entire project is expected to be completed by February of 2015.
