RATHDRUM, Idaho - RATHDRUM, Idaho - Friday afternoon, at approximately 4:30 P.M., the Post Falls Police SWAT Team responded to the City of Rathdrum to assist with a barricaded felony suspect.

Earlier, a Rathdrum Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation when the driver failed to stop a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the driver pulled into an apartment complex and ran from the vehicle. Officers perused the driver on foot and he fled into an apartment and barricaded himself inside. Officers recognized the driver as Johnathon Raper, who they knew had a dangerous felony warrant for his arrest.

Due to Mr. Raper's criminal past, officers decided to contain Mr. Raper in the home until SWAT could arrive and assist.

He had crawled through the attic of several apartments and was found hiding under the ceiling insulation. During the arrest, a PFPD SWAT member received non-live threatening injuries and was transported to KMC, via ambulance, for treatment.
