Coroner Identifies Butte Homicide Victim

BUTTE -

According to the coroner's office, 72-year-old Jerry Diltz was the victim of Wednesday's homicide at the Continental Gardens in Butte.

Coroner Lee Labreche says they are still looking to contact the victim's family, but at this point they have not been able to do so.

On Wednesday morning, 72-year-old John Grubbs allegedly slashed or stabbed Diltz in the throat during an argument at the senior complex.

Since the incident, management at the housing facility has been reviewing the incident and they say they will continue to examine what happened.

Continental Gardens officials say there is rarely any disturbances at the facility, but they will still go back to insure everyone's safety.

Labreche urges anybody with information about Diltz's family to contact the coroner's office at 490-8023.
