City Commission Plans To Spend $4.5 Million For New Park

BOZEMAN -

Bozeman City Commissioners are expected to authorize $4.5 million of the Trails, Open-Space And Park Bond Fund for the Story Mill Park project Monday.

If approved, the 54-acre Story Mill Park will be Bozeman's largest park available for a lot of uses.

Parks and Recreation officials said will not only have a playground and pavilions, but also an outdoor educational area preserving wetlands and serve as a wildlife sanctuary.

"All of this in one area creates a park unlike anything Bozeman has ever seen," said Mitch Overton, Bozeman Parks and Recreation Director.

Overton said if the commissioners approve the project Monday night, construction won't begin until at least 2015.
