A 25-year-old Butte man is in custody this evening after pointing a gun at a couple visiting Butte.

Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester says Braedon Germann allegedly pointed a gun at the heads of an Idaho couple in a parking garage in Uptown Butte on Sunday morning.

Lester says the suspect accused the Idaho couple of stealing his car keys.

The couple was able to escape the garage and called 911.

At that time, police arrested Germann for two felony counts of assault with a weapon.

Lester says the man's keys were later found in his own pocket.

Police say the man had been drinking.
