Name of Snowmobiler Who Died in Cooke City Accident Released

COOKE CITY -

The Park County Coroner releases the name of the man who died on Thursday in a snowmobile accident northwest of Cooke City.

Officials said Brian MacPherson, 48, of Martensville, Saskatchewan, Canada, died after he attempted to jump his snowmobile across a creek and crashed.

The accident occurred in the Abundance Flat area. 

On Tuesday, an 18-year-old snowmobiler died after being buried in an avalanche in the Daisy Pass/Crown Butte area-- also near Cooke City.
