More People Flying Out of Great Falls International Airport

Posted: Updated:

More people are boarding planes at Great Falls International Airport. Recent numbers are even setting a new passenger record in the first two months of 2014, according to an airport press release.

The Great Falls Airport Authority says the number of passengers boarding planes is up 6.4 percent over the year 2013, and they add that the airport has had a record number of passengers for three of the last four months.

So why are so many people eager to fly?

The airport says lower ticket prices are the primary reason for so many travelers. They claim the average price of tickets at the Great Falls International has decreased over the last four years while national ticket prices have steadily increased.

The airport is expecting the number of passengers to stay strong through the upcoming summer months.

SPOKANE, Wash. - One of the great parts about living in Spokane, is if you head out of town in any direction, you're going to run into some beautiful farm land. I grew up south of Spokane, near Plaza, and one of my favorite things to do was to sit on the porch at night and stare south towards Rosalia at all of the rolling hills of wheat, lentils, barley and peas.
