Affordable Housing Discussed In Town Hall Meeting

Posted: Updated:
BIG SKY, Mont. -

Affordable housing options will be one of the main topics at Thursday night's town hall meeting in Big Sky.

The Big Sky Chamber Of Commerce has been looking into building affordable housing for people that live in Big Sky year round for about a year.

During that year they found the town doesn't have enough housing between $100,000 and $200,000, forcing about two thirds of the people that work in Big Sky all year to commute from other communities.

Bozeman and West Yellowstone are an hour away from Big Sky.

The chamber said they don't have a final plan yet on how to bring affordable housing to Big Sky.

They would like to have a final plan sometime next month.

The town hall meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center.
