Half Naked Mile Run Set for Montana Tech

BUTTE -

They're going streaking... almost.

Montana Tech students will be taking off their clothes and running a mile through campus for the school's inaugural "Half Naked Mile" fun run.

The event, sponsored by the Montana Tech Foundation, will feature students running half naked through campus for up to a little less than a mile.

Proceeds of the event will go towards the "Safe Ride Program" which allows Butte bar patrons to receive a free taxi ride home after drinking alcohol.

The event is also a way to celebrate St. Patrick 's Day, who happens to be the patron saint of engineering.

"It's just to raise money for the "Get Home Safe Program" and to kind of bring St. Patrick's Day and advertise it to the students more," said Megan Graff, a senior at Tech. "It's advertising safety for St. Patrick's Day and getting home safe without driving."

The race will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. outside of the Student Union Building.

The winners will be a part of the Montana Tech float during the St. Patrick's Day parade.

There will also be T-shirts, that you can't wear for the race, which will be sold.
