Information From Flood Victims Needed For Assessment

Posted: Updated:
MANHATTAN -

Emergency Management Officials ask anyone whom incurred damages due to recent flooding to complete an online damage assessment.

Emergency Management team members held a meeting on Monday night in Manhattan to share information on how home and business owners can register their damages.

They also let them know that it is unlikely private homeowners who suffered damages will receive any financial assistance.

They say if places like Manhattan meet a threshold of 25 businesses affected by flooding, the U.S. Small Business Administration could do a damage assessment.

Businesses may then be eligible for financial assistance through their programs.

"All the programs have very specific requirements," said Patrick Lonergan, Gallatin County Emergency Management. "Any programs that we do happen to meet will be made available to us. Right now, I am not sure what those programs are."

The online assessment asks questions like what damages you incurred and what your insurance will or will not cover.
