Bohlinger to Continue Run for Montana's U.S. Senate Seat

A month after saying he might drop out, former Lieutenant Governor John Bohlinger said that he will continue his campaign for U.S. Senate.

At the end of January, Bohlinger had said he might end his campaign for the Democratic nomination for Montana's U.S. Senate seat if Lieutenant Governor John Walsh was appointed to serve the rest of Max Baucus' term.

The governor appointed Walsh to the position on February 7, and he was sworn into Congress four days later.

But Bohlinger said that he was convinced after making a speech in Butte on Wednesday when several people approached him and asked him to stay in the race.

On Friday, Bohlinger officially filed with the Montana Secretary of State's Office in Helena.

Walsh, Bohlinger and Dirk Adams of Wilsall are all vying for the Democratic nomination for the open seat.
