Senator John Walsh is scheduled to go back to his hometown of Butte Saturday to officially file as a candidate for the state's U.S. Senator position.
Walsh will be filing at the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Hall in Uptown Butte on Silver Street Saturday at noon.
Walsh currently holds the position after Max Baucus was approved to become the country's new ambassador to China.
On Friday, Senator Walsh introduced his first bill to congress.
The Civil Liberties Protection Act would stop warrantless surveillance of Americans.
