A Montana Tech graduate student is conducting a survey about Butte to create a marketing campaign and drive tourism in the Mining City.
Montana Tech graduate student, Chelsea Newman, is teaming up with Butte-Silver Bow to complete her master's thesis.
In doing so, Newman has created and administered an online survey about Butte, asking residents about their opinions of advertising in the city, specifically on billboards.
Once the information is collected, Newman will turn in her report to the county to be used to help the Butte economy and overall lifestyle.
"Our world today is 21st century marketing," Newman said. "Whether we like it or not, it's important that we let our opinions and desires be known in a way that draws people in."
Newman's survey called "What's The Buzz About Butte?" can be found on the Butte-Silver Bow County website.
It will be conducted through mid-March.
