Missoula City County Health Officials confirmed on Tuesday, Hellgate High School has three confirmed cases of pertussis, or whooping cough.

Hellgate principal Lisa Hendrix said on Wednesday, health officials will continue interviewing any students considered "at risk." Health officials will then contact parents directly if their student requires further care. They ask parents to wait to be contacted, and said if you do not get a call, your child is not at risk.

Last Wednesday, the school reported one case of whooping cough. Health officials added an additional case. Pertussis is a highly contagious respiratory disease.
