A Montana Rail Link train struck an abandoned car at the Trail Creek Road crossing Saturday.
It is just one of the many incidents that kept the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department busy this weekend.
Since Friday night, the sheriff's department responded to more than 90 calls related to the winter storm.
Many of those calls were about abandoned or stuck vehicles.
Sheriff's officials said just leaving your car in the road could be taxing to local resources.
"We're going to assume that person maybe out on foot and not safe, so we are going to put some extra effort into locating the individual that is attached to that car, maybe even call in search and rescue depending on the location," said Sgt. Jim Anderson, Gallatin County Sheriff Department.
Sheriff officials said the best thing to do is avoid driving through the drifts.
Instead, turn around and find an alternate route.
