Montana State University is one of the snowiest universities in the county.
Forecasting website "Weather Underground" ranks the university as the fourth snowiest in the nation.
The website took the 30-year seasonal snowfall average from the closest national weather service data site to nearly 350 Division 1 universities to compile the list.
MSU's closest weather service NOW data site is on MSU's campus which averages 93.5 inches of snow a year.
And many students on campus said they aren't surprised.
"I believe it. We have two ski resorts really close to campus and everyone says it's really good skiing even though I don't ski," said Kienen Wetherell, MSU sophomore.
The University at Buffalo, Northern Arizona University and Syracuse University top the list.
Syracuse University gets an average of 126.3 inches of snow a year.
