Bail Set for Bitterroot Couple Accused of Murder

Posted: Updated:
HAMILTON -

Bail is set at $200k for the couple charged in the death 25-year-old Robert Thaut, a Hamilton man found dead in his home on January 28.

Richard Michael Sullivan, 25, is charged with felony deliberate homicide while his wife, Candace Elizabeth Sullivan, 28, is charged with conspiracy to commit deliberate homicide, also a felony.

Court documents released Tuesday say police responded to a call late at night on Jan. 28 where they found Thaut dead on his living room floor.

A later prognosis from Dr. Gary Dale, the Montana State Medical Examiner, says Thaut died of blunt trauma force to the abdomen, a type of injury that takes a large amount of force, would not lead to immediate death and could be repaired with medical attention.

ABC FOX MONTANA spoke with the families of the victim and suspects and we will have details on what they had to say tonight on the FOX MONTANA NEWS @ 9.
