Group Gets More Funds For More Flights For Glacier Airport

KALISPELL -

A group hoping to get more direct flights for Glacier Park International Airport is getting closer to making it happen.

Several Flathead businesses banded together to give Airline Enhancement and Retention Outreach Inc. (AERO) $80,000.

AERO plans to promise airlines a cash safety net, only paying out if the airline loses money on the new flight, meaning commercial flights have almost nothing to lose by testing flights.

The Flathead County Economic Development Authority will match whatever AERO raises up to $100,000.

By May, AERO aims to raise $70,000 more, for a total of $250,000.
