Fugitive Waives Extradition From Oregon

A Bozeman man who walked out of the Gallatin County Law and Justice over three weeks ago has waived extradition from Oregon.

Kevin Anthony Briggs, 28 was arrested in Portland, Oregon on Friday evening.

Briggs appeared in Multnomah County Circuit Court on Tuesday morning where he waived extradition. At this time, Gallatin County Attorney Marty Lambert said he does not know when Briggs will return to Bozeman to face pending charges.

Briggs is facing multiple felony charges in Gallatin County including aggravated assault, attempted sexual intercourse without consent, assault of a peace officer and escape.

Briggs is also required to register as a sex offender after being convicted of kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girlfriend in Helena in 2003.
