Police: Spokane Man Kicks K-9 In Head While Resisting Arrest

PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) - A Port Angeles, Wash., police official says a city officer suffered a minor injury and his police dog was kicked in the head as they arrested a motorcycle theft suspect in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains.
    
The Peninsula Daily News reports (http://is.gd/t0lH6h ) that Deputy Chief Brian Smith says Officer Lucas Degand suffered a minor hand cut while K-9 Bogey appeared unhurt. The arrested man was treated for dog bites before being booked into jail Sunday night.
    
The newspaper says 31-year-old Joshua Tinker of Spokane made a preliminary appearance Monday in Clallam County Superior Court. He was held on $10,000 bail for investigation of felony eluding, taking a motor vehicle without permission, driving without a license and DUI.
    
The motorcycle was recovered by the Washington State Patrol and returned to its owner.
