MSU Fast-A-Thon Event

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

4,500 people in the Gallatin Valley use assistance from the food bank every month.

On Monday night, the Montana State University Muslim Student Association will host its annual Fast-A-Thon.

The purpose of the event is to feed participants a meal after not eating or drinking anything from dawn to dusk.

Those who are fed are asked to donate money they would have spent on food that day to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.

"I feel like the community here is a small view of the world hunger," said Faisal Alsaad Muslim Student Association President. "We want everyone in Bozeman to experience what it's like to be in need of food."

The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Strand Union Ballrooms at MSU.
