Man Extradited Back to Butte to Face Negligent Homicide Charge

BUTTE -

A Butte man accused of striking and killing a pedestrian while under the influence of illegal drugs was in court Friday afternoon.

28-year-old Lucas Hundley is charged with negligent vehicular homicide for allegedly hitting and killing John Hellander with his vehicle last October in Butte.

Blood test results came back stating Hundley was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the incident.

Hundley was arrested earlier this week after leading Kalispell police on a foot pursuit.

He is being housed at the Butte-Silver Bow Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
