SAN FRANCISCO -

The hunt for 28-year-old Kevin Briggs turns up new tips in California, as FBI agents say he was spotted in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland, Calif. last week.

FBI  agents ask the public for help and offer a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of Briggs, a convicted rapist and violent offender who escaped from the Gallatin County Law and Justice Center almost three weeks ago, on Feb. 1.

Agents say Briggs should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him should stay away and call 911.

Briggs was last seen in Montana, by a friend at a bus station in Missoula on Feb. 1-- the night he escaped.

He told the friend he was heading to Spokane and was planning to head down the coast and enter Mexico.

Briggs has been also known to go by the names Aimee MacIntire, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Briggs, Kevin A. Briggs, Timothy McCoy, James Meismer, James Zenon Meismer.

Briggs is described to be a white male, 5'5" to 5'7" and 120 to 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He has a sunburst tattoo around his right nipple, a tattoo in his armpit and a tattoo on his lower lip. He has a double "snake bite" piercing on his bottom lip.

He also has a bellybutton piercing and pierced ears. Briggs was last wearing gray sweat pants, a dark-colored hooded jacket or parka, black shoes and a dark baseball cap.
