Education Program Grants Available To MT Schools

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

Montana schools and education programs can now apply for grants, aimed at supporting after school and summer education programs.

The 21st Century Learning Center Program gives grants to public and private schools, and local groups that serve students from low-income families.

Last year, it awarded more than $1 million to 23 after school, summer, and other educational programs across the state. Grants range from $50,000 to $10,000 dollars, and last five years.

"These programs, currently funded through our office, are doing great work for students. They help young people develop skills for young people working in today's economy. They do career building and team work, and we know those are career skills they'll need in future," said Superintendent of Montana Public Instruction, Denise Juneau.

The application deadline is April 14. If you're interested in applying, head to the Montana Office of Public Instruction.
